Basic Everyday Care
- Consider your jewelry the cherry on top during your daily prep routine and put it on last. So only after you have applied body lotion, hairspray or your signature scent.
- When taking it off, wipe it with a clean, soft cloth to remove oil and sweat, then store it in a cool, dry place in a cloth-lined box or other airtight container.
- Avoid wearing your jewelry when you are doing physical work, such as housework, gardening or sports.
- Try not to bring your jewelry into contact with household cleaners, as these may contain chlorine bleach, and take it off before you go swimming in chlorinated or salt water.

Basic Cleaning Tips
Either visit our atelier for a professional and free off charge cleaning. We reliably remove fingerprints, light grease and dirt.
Or use this simple method for at home
- Add a small amount of pH-neutral soap in a small container of warm water.
- Leave your piece of jewelry to soak for a few minutes.
- If necessary, brush it with a very soft baby toothbrush, rinse it thoroughly with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth.
- Silver is very soft, so handle it with care to avoid scratches.

Silver
Silver normally tarnishes quite quickly when it comes into contact with oxygen or sulphur. To prevent this, our sterling silver is either rhodium- or platinum-plated. Only our whitened pieces are left in their natural state, as they would otherwise lose their light color if coated.
Of course, the rhodium or platinum coating can wear off over time. The best way to prevent silver from tarnishing, is to wear it often, because the oils in your skin prevent tarnishing.
To maintain the original condition of your silver jewelry, polish your pieces regularly with a non-abrasive cleaning cloth or a jewelry polishing cloth, which you can obtain from any drugstore.

Gold plated silver
Our gold plated jewelry is sterling silver plated with a 14k gold plating. We use black rhodium for our blackened pieces. This is a good alternative if you are not yet ready to invest in a real gold piece, but love the color of yellow or rose gold or if you like blackened pieces. Over time, the plating will wear off.
We like to think, that when we wear a piece of jewelry, it becomes a part of us and as we change, so does our jewelry, creating new, extraordinary patinas as the plating on the surface wears away. However, we will of course re-plate your jewelry if you wish.

Gemstones
Every gemstone has different needs, which is why we recommend that you bring your piece of jewelry with a gemstone to us once a year for a check-up and deep cleaning or ask us for cleaning instructions. You can also get a look at this article from the International Gem Society, which gives specific details on how to care for different stones.
